My bonnets and “bonheur”

A fashion on my topmost

I love wearing hat and bonnet. I’ve been collecting both since 1991 after I moved to The Netherlands.I have quite a lots of them by now. But as we are in winter right now,let me show off solely some of my bonnets I have and I will advert some hats later when the summer approaches
In the beginning of my collection of some bonnets,I often bought them from shops, mostly because of the weather, let’s say, just to cuddle my head and to keep it warm in the winter time. Its function was purely to protect my topmost from the wind, the cold, the drizzle, the snow or whatever what matters to the head and the hair.

But nowadays, the function of a bonnet for me, (I think, also for a lots of modern women of these days) is more than what mentioned above.I apply it  as a piece of ornament which give me fairly much pleasure, joy and uniqueness. It’s been merged  as a fashion on my topmost.

So I barely care whether it’s cold, windy, drizzly, snowy or even rainy. I put it on whenever I feel like to.As I always treat myself special, I then treat my bonnet special too. I would make it distinctive. When I have bought a plein bonnet from a shop, for example, I would adorn it with a flower or a bow. Lately,it’s a bit difficult to find a bonnet I truly like, not quite sure whether I became more selective as well as wisier with purchasing or there’s really nothing so cute or pleasingly preferable in shops I run into. But never mind, I just decided to make it myself currently. And I am very proud, contented and cheerful with the products I made. (see the pic.on the right and below. These are the latest ones I made during the Chrismas evening while sitting watching movie on our cozy couch )

As mentioned above,I’m still gathering quite a lots of bonnets at present after having already thrown some away. As years have gone by, some are worn out, obsolete or dowdy, and I didn’t like them any more. Some were relegated to the public textile box so that I won’t  see them again. And here they are, some outstanding, colorful and floral ones that are still in use and I'm fond of them fairly pretty much. They are not only just a “bonnet” but they are also such “bonheur” ,a happiness and pleasure ,and definitely a headgear fashion on my topmost.I also love to wear it during the cooking workshop,it can be served perfectly as a chefcap.

(Do you also adore wearing bonnet ? do you have some beautiful ones that you want to show off ? Let’s share them with me and others here)

Life is full a surprise !

Another awesome week has gone by. My week routine is  enhanced with product development for Theparitales’s webshop that will be launched in the very near future. It’s another mission with many tasks and responsibities. I hardly have time for anything else rather than work at this time of the year. While I want to keep all practices going on as usual, of course ,the week working routines, such as the visits to clients, the cooking workshop, teaching Thai Conversation, must remain alive. Unfortunately, I had to skip a hobby “solo-latino” dance for the last month of this season and the begin of the next one. Dance buddies won’t see me on dance floor from the end of November 2015 till the end of Januari 2016. Friends won’t see me traveling to join social activities neither outdoor in the country nor abroad.I won’t see friends as often as before.Talking on phone, connecting by all kinds of media is still on ,though seldom. Somethings less important must be cut off.   I must manage my time in very appropriate proportion. Definitely, work and family must be in very good harmony too.

Eventhough I haven’t had much time for social contact as mentioned above. I let one in last Saturday. It was one of my students Thai conversation class who left to Vietnam for 2 weeks in begin November. He sent me such a lovely postcard from Hanoi, which was quite a surprise and I cheerfully appreciated his thoughtfulness. He caught up via whatsapp and line when he was back. That´s ravishing. So he came over last Saturday to show me the photo album he made from his recent vacation. It was such an awesome catch up. And I told him I loved the postcard he sent. That’s a November surprise which rejoiced me a lot.
a lovely pop-up postcard from Vietnam
After the guest left that early afternoon, there came the postman. He brought a tiny packet addressed my name. The handwriting was not familiar at all. So I absolutely had no clue from whom that could be.

However ,I unpacked and I saw this.

The used cigarbox with label ` roken brengt u en anderen rondom u schade toe` which means `smoking can bring about serious damage to you and others around` That´s a great `caution`,I thought.

I turned the box around and saw another label on the back which said `roken kan het sperma beschadigen en vermindert vruchtbaarheid` That means `Smoking can damage sperm and decrease fertility` I was silent !

I was not sure whether anyone was making joke with me or something. The box was taped and I really wanted to know what was inside. I cut the tape and found out !!!

Skincare for acne scar and  skincare cream for face and body !

I bursted my laugh out loud !

My dearest friend, how can I love you more ? What a surprise ! As my latest converstations with friends were mostly about my acne problems and even the conversation ended, their thought was still concerned with my beauty. It was the very good closed friend who came to see me a week ago sent these to me. Thanks so much !That friends always think about each other is another felicity of mine. I´m blessed to have and to be surrounded with wonderful family, friends and anyone I encounter. I must tell you my life is really full of a surprise !

Tea Tree Oil Products

These are Tea Tree Oil Products I’ve been using recently.

This is tea tree oil in a 10ml-bottle. (left pic)

Tea tree oil is suitable for skincare. Besides the extract oil from Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea tree leaves),this product is also composed of  the following ingredients.Chamomilla Ricutita flower extract which is known for its soothing, anti-inflammatory and anti-irritant properties. Caprylic/capric trigyceride which is  derived from coconut oil and glycerin, that is excellent emollient and skin-reparing ingredient to help repair skin surface as well as to resist moisture loss.Other than that are Isopropryl Myristate, which is good for absorption through skin and Limonen that posesses strong smell of oranges and is commonly used in cosmetic products to mask unpleasant odor. This product is dermatologically approved and I’ve been using it for about a month or so and I can see the improvement on my skin. It performs such a great purifying effect on pimples, blackheads as well as black spots.

As Tea tree oil is extracted from the leaves of tea tree which named Melaleuca Alternifolia, that’s why it’s also called Melaleuca oil.

Surprisingly enough, I haven’t known or heard about this oil before. Neither had I seen it advertised on papers nor on television earlier. Until one day when I was facial treated by my beautician. She applied tea tree oil on my face as she saw quite a lot of tiny acnes all around and told me that the oil posseses disinfecting properties. That sounded  for me absolutely eliciting and inducing. As I have been suffering from acne uncommonly already for a long time now.And I had tried many products according to my doctor’s prescription, but it didn’t help so far.So after the treatment that time I decided to purchase one little bottle of tea tree oil for my own use. Moreover,I studied even more about it too.

After a week of using this tea tree oil product, I felt my skin softer with healthier look. Some acnes dried and dropped off my face .So I bought more products which composed of tea tree oil to apply for my skincare instead of the old daily products I used to wear. And frankly speaking, they works amazingly.I’m still using them todays.

To give you clearer images of some tea tree oil products ( I use ) I attached some pictures here.

P.S I,in fact, have tea tree oil day&night cream too but didn't add any picture herewith. Let me update you some other time.
Till next time,

Kaki : Sweet & healthy fruit

Kaki
Whether you go for food shopping regularly or just once in a while, I’m sure you may have seen this kind of fruit already in the supermarket as well as at the open-air market. Especially recently, you see it everywhere.

This is kaki, a tropical fruit that looks pretty much like tomato. It possesses orange color and is known by other names too.For example ; Sharon or persimon or bouquet persimon.  They say it  comes originally from China where it’s been used to heal some sicknesses. The bolied kaki, for example, can stop diarrhea whereas the dried one can  help with respiratory problems or a dry cough. Its juice can be used to treat high blood pressure.Well, that sounds very megical, probably that’s why the Ancient Greeks called it the "fruit of the gods."

Kaki is also a very huge source of fiber. One Kaki contains as much fiber as three slices of wholemeal bread.
A slice of bread contains an average of two grams of fiber, while Kaki already has six grams. So when you are hungry and take a Kaki! You will feel full long enough before you get hungry again. Obviously,it can be an excellent diet to replace dinner for those who want to lose some weight.

Now let’s see what kind of vitamines are in this fruit.
Yellow-Color meat ,very sweet juice
Kaki is quite rich of pro-vitamin A, particularly in the form of the following carotenoids:

·        beta-carotene, an antioxidant. Antioxidants protect the body against so-called "free radicals" and other harmful substances. Also, vitamin C, and E are well known antioxidants.
(Beta-carotene is a red-orange pigment found in plants and fruits, especially carrots and colorful vegetables.)
·        Beta-cryptoxanthin is very similar to beta carotene. Kaki and papaya contain large amounts of this substance. Much research is being done to beta-cryptoxanthin because it is believed that this carotenoid all carotenes the best protection for the prevention of (lung) cancer.
·        Lycopene, a red dye, is in large doses and can be found in tomatoes and watermelon. It is believed that lycopene protects the body against free radicals in fatty tissue, such as the prostate.
·        Lutein is a yellow pigment that is also in Tomatoes and Spinach. As a food supplement, it is used in order to reduce the risk of macular degeneration of the eye condition.
·        Also zeaxanthin (or Citranaxanthin) lifts a positive effect on the protection against eye disease, in this case cataracts.

Here is some fact about Provitamin.
A provitamin  is a substance that may be converted within the body to a vitamin .One of the most important pro-vitamin is beta-carotene which can be converted into vitamin A. So it’s called provitamin A.
We need vitamin A for healthy skin and mucus membranes, our immune system, growth and good eye health and vision.

Till next time,
Take care,

Journey Journal Monaco Day 2 "In Menton"

Journey Journal Monaco Day 2 "In Menton"

I woke up the next morning by the Southern Thai dialect accent coming from the bank of the pool approximately 10 meters on the left side of my room’s balcony. It was Daranee who was chitchating with her Thai friend from Thailand on her celphone. As the villa was on hill and the pool area was surrounded partly with stone and row of trees on the other side. The sound could be echoed pretty well, even through the slide double-glass door of my bedroom.I must emphasize Southern Thai dialect is a kind of sturdy, heavy and somewhat manly language. It may sound a bit rough if you don’t know its genuin characters. If you hear both counterparts talking without seeing their faces, you might probably think they are quarelling. But there’s nothing such, rather than the sincerity and wholeheartedness derived from deep down bottomhearts of speakers, believe me. The Southern Thai people are very well known of being flocked. Like other social animals, we love gathering to the same species and hanging around each other when possible. No less than that ,we enjoy keeping in touch quite a lot or....other words...socializing with each other pretty much. And so...the loud and tough voice of Daranee that morning, was not an hassle and it didn’t bother me at all. On the contrary,I considered it  a snug good-morning call to dig me out of bed to join her a very fantastic and isolated presence on high hill. Let us just celebrate the day together.

Breakfast was served after our warm-greeting-hug whereat Daranee hung up the line and turned her face to Grace and me. Pleasant and Joyful conversation among us started consequently.

our breakfast that morning

Our forenoon activity that day was not much more than talking to one another ,to catch up with everything we had been missing. And also to tune on those social medias to let friends and the world know where we were and what we were doing. That was kind of fun thing so far. Well, whether they would be interested in it or not ,actually I didn’t mind. To speak my thought and words out on letters was what mattered me most.

Catching up w/ what we have been missing

Besides talking to each other face-to-face and leaving words on medias, Grace and I were enjoying swimming at the pool pretty much. Laying sunbathing was also one of Grace's favorites. I, on the other hand, prefered not to expose to the sun that much. In fact, I was confronting skin problem and having lots of pimples on my face those days. And so I tried not to make thing worse and was looking forward to seeing doctor once I was home in The Netherlands the week later.

GrcaeAnne was enjoying sunbathing along the pool

Daranee loved talking both on phone and to us. I shall say, we could spend that morning together harmoniously till the noon approached. Then we went for lunch at Darane’s restaurant “Royal Thai”again, planning to visit Menton later when the sunray became softer. Our lunch was great. Again they were selected according to our eating habit, some easy-digestable dishes, composing of much of vegetable then.
Later in the afternoon, we left to Menton, the pearl of France.Menton is definitely a lemontown. I saw yellow lemons everywhere. Parfumes ,oils and soaps, for example, are made here too. I smelled  fragrances and aromas allover the atmosphere when we were strolling along the tourists'walking street. They also say Menton is very famous for its gardens ,whether Jardin Serre de la Madone, the Fontana Rosa or the Jardin Botanique exotique de Menton, I didn’t see any of them I must confess. Not even seen the port and an old part of town. That’s too bad,I know that . Probably because it’s too hot and we didn’t feel like to walk much that day. Let me make a better story next time. I guarantee I will be back here and will have more to tell by then.

Dropped for some shoots

The main aim that afternoon after parking the car close to the market place was to get some icy ice cream  to cool our throat off and we did it before moving on to Saint Michel Church, where we went inside and stayed for a while as we were making  some wishes.

downstairs from St.Michel

Right, we were making wishes and if our wishes come true we will come back for sure to thank and to show our gratitude. We smiled to each other and...
Let's move on to the next station...

Journey Journal :Monaco Day 1 "On arrival"

Journey Journal :Monaco Day 1
“On Arrival”

Got in her car,Daranee picked up us from Airport to her home
A week after a week-away for short vacation in South of France and in Monaco, I just took some time to review my brief journal this afternoon. I want to say that we, my daughter and I, had such a wonderful time together with our friends around. And here’s the story sounds...

GraceAnne (my daughter) and I left The Netherlands in late afternoon after my morning work routine on Wednesday the 22nd of July, flying from Eindhoven Airport by Transavia to Nice.(To mention the Airlines name here is not a marketing means to promote its company at all. I just wanted to provide clear information about airlines that fly from this regional airport to our destination) .

It was such a warm, bright, sunny day and we were ,pretty much, looking forward to our end terminal, Monaco. Not only to see the places, but also to meet friends is smashing wishlist.

We planned this trip for only 6 days, but our luggages could be horrifying. They were huge, stuffed with all women-need beauty tools and accessories you couldn’t possibly imagine.I think most women know and understand this. And I wouldn't go in detail here. Anyway,we didn’t have any problem with weight allowed or anything,we had purchased sufficient kilos when booked. But what I want to say is that besides those horrendous luggages loaded in, I also had a big present for my friend to carry with as a hand luggage too. Unfortunately, its size was too odd. I was not allowed to carry 2 hand luggages on craft. And I didn’t want it to be loaded with passenger baggages. So that present had to be left home. There will be other ways to cope with it later. Only the thought of not having it with me this time had been annoying me occationally. We left without present thus. What a pity ! and a nuisance !

Anyway, the plane departed on time and it took us an hour and twenty minutes before we landed exactly on the expected course.I greatly admired its punctuality. Also the flow of uploading luggages went well...fast and smoothly.By the time we were walking out to the arrival hall, Daranee, our friend just came in and we didn’t have to wait any minute to move on to our next station.Life is juicy, lifely and tastety indeed !

Sea of clouds in the air

We arrived a bit late. But dinner time was never bygone. I could skip after-noon meals. Well, I in fact prefered not to have night meal at all, whatoever... but I’m afraid my daughter could hardly forbear that. And Daranee was concerned cause she’s one of the best hosts in our circle. That’s why she drove us to her restaurant in Monaco first (Royal Thai Monaco) and ordered some kinds of low-fat and easily digestible meals for us before driving back to her villa in the French region.

At bedtime, our first night at friend’s home.We slept easily and quite well, especially GraceAnne, effortlessly. Forasmuch when the belly is full, the bones will be at rest.

" Parichat"

My daughter named her last school artwork after my name “Parichat”

My daughter is studying last year VWO (Voorbereid Wettenschappelijk Onderwijs – highschool / pre-university education)  at Bernadius College which is one of the very traditional schools of Heerlen town and around.

As this year is marked  “the year of mines 2015 (M2015)” (Heerlen was once a centre for the coal mining industry in the Netherlands in the late 19th century)  Heerlen is holding the exhibition to reflex its history and to show how the mines has been influenced the region as well as how it can impact the future developement. The Exhibition is held at the “GlasPaleis” in the center of town the whole year of 2015, whereas the students’artworks will be displayed only for few first weeks of the opening of the event.

Bernadinus college is joining the project by picking some outstanding artworks of last year students, with theme “the mines” to display at the exhibition hall. My daughter’s was one of those arts selected.

I had helped my daughter transport her artwork from school to the hall before the exhibition took place. During the conversation while driving, I just learned that she named her work after my name...it’s “Parichat” (I’m a very proud mom)

And she described her work under its tittle as the following.

“I represent this piece of work as myself and my background. As my mom is Thai, I’ve been thus grown up amidst two cultures (Thai-Dutch). I would like to take this mixture to creat a piece of arts by applying a “fish” as my delegate.

The fish opens the mouth spitting pieces of glass and fire upwards the ceiling, letting what’s inside out. I have herewith performed a “Wow effect” by burning firework at the first show.
It goes without saying,my work is showing conflict between the cold of the glass and the heat of the fire, which represents the collision of two different cultures.

The prominent charecter of my artwork is by collaged broken pieces of marbles that I have always been featured in every piece of my work from the past til todays”

“Schweins Haxe”

This “Schweins Haxe”, pork knuckle was one of typical German dishes to be recommended when you are in Germany. It’s roasted ham hock which is boiled and roasted later til it’s cryspy. It can be served with potato purée or fried potatoes and red cabbage or sauerkraut (sour white cabbage) .

I was in Berlin recently with  my Thai guests who were  joining world congress in there working field. This “Schweins Haxe” was one of those favorite dinner flavors among all of us. And I always recommend at least for one dinner meal. Of course, instead of fried potatos,we,Thai , prefer to have rice with it. It would be even better if some spicy sauce is at hand. But in case rice is not available, then we would rather have French fired than the purée or the fried ones. Above all of this an extra plate of mixed salad is indispensable.

January ended fast

January ended fast

January just ended very fast and I have been unattended to wrting alreay since October last year. I have been quite busy most of the time lately. My morning routine with senior homecare runs from Monday to Friday ,engaging with diverse jobs of my small business in the afternoon and every now and then giving cooking workshop in the evening. I’m afraid that Saturday and Sunday would be too short for some good rest, I therefore try to take most adventage out of it. Spending quality time with my kids after all work done and yet relaxing and giving myself “me”  time too.All of these are so far very well under control,I can combine all activities in shapely proportion whilst I’m still keeping great connection with my kids, myself and my work as well as people in my circle. And it looks as if I had been ignoring my writing carelessly and without concern.
Back here today for update thus.In fact,I should have been back more often, I realize that, at least to keep things alive and to keep reviewing myself up to date as well.
To sum up roughly with what's happening recently, here are some progress in the last couple months I made :

  • Back from visiting my home Thailand around the end of Oktober,I’ve arranged with my planner not to plan cooking workshop on Tuesday evening as I will have solodance evening that I had been missing many months earlier after my summer vacation from the end of June to mid July and once again during my 4-week-holidays in Thailand. Arrangement was acquanted and sympathy understood. And I haven’t missed any dance evening since then. Thanks everyone for undertanding <3
  • I have reduced traveling frequency for meeting or seminar outside home-based location.
  • I have been more serious with “DeliPari”—my homemade delicacies—by making it better known via my private facebook; among friends, friends of the friends and acquantances, trying to creat and to add new more bites or sweet treats on the list. And it works, “delipari” has become more known.Orders and compliments flow in again and again after one delivery. I’m happy people appreciate the taste of “Deipari” I made.
  •  I have started another small business which need some more time to grow. It’s running pretty well so far as planned. But it’s not yet the ripe time to expand the news.

See you all again very soon,
Here are some lovely ways to connect with me and my persuits
