Last Saturday (23-11-13)

I woke up very early last Saturday to get ready for “Thai Costume Day” organized by my “Thai Pride Association”. I set alarm clock at 5am, knowing that I would not be able to get up right after the alarm went off. That’s why I always allow the clock on about an hour in advance so that I’ll be aware that I will have another hour to sleep. That’s me in the last few years ; need much sleep and hard to get out of bed. But all in all, I still have everything under control. Get out of bed in time and make myself ready to execute my daily schedule perfectly.
The first thing I did after a usual drink bottle of water of the day,is to get my hair done. Cause I thougth it would be the most difficult part of my metamorphose of today. In fact, I had practiced doing this hair style already a few times earlier since last month. Just like every practice goes, the first time of practice will never be real good. But as long as practice makes perfect, my next exercises gradually become better and better. And so today my hairdo was succeeded at a time without mending. It turned my expectation upside down. Thus instead of the most difficult part as I thought, it was just “a piece of cake”.This is the second partyhairdo’s I made myself successfully in 2013.

So when the hair done, the rest runs.I have never been worried about my facial make up. That’s what I count as my everyday beautification. And it can be done in less than a quarter. I am glad that I have taken everything easy. I had prepared a great deal of work sufficiently earlier in advance. Tasks and responsibilities were already devided appropriately. And so today my team and I would not be worried about anythings else rather than making ourselves pretty and aglow in Thai costume to suit the theme of the day “Thai Costume Day”

Karel left around 7.45 am to pick up 5 monks from the Thai Temple in Eschweiler. He came back with 3 monks instead.I was informed later that one left to Thailand whilst the other had to stay at the monastery to look after the location. However, good timing,They were arriving at the place in expected time.
The program on that day started with ritual ceremony. We,Buddhists, worshiped the triple gems, requested the percepts and offered food as well as wares to the monks, for instance. The monks chanted, blessed and sprinkled holy water to all attendants at the end. Then we enjoyed lunch together.

Right after meal, we took the opportunity of today to light candle ceremony for our king Phumipol and our country.Thai pride Association wished everyone prosperity, happiness and success in all fields of life. I am happy everything ran smoothly as planned. This was the last Thai Pride event of 2013.

Few days after the event, some called to appologized that they could not come !!!! This is what I never understand. They should have called before, but they haven't. Some came already in the vicinity but suddenly got stomach ache before entering the room and so they turned around and heading home instead. And those who promised to come and never show up and never call. These kind of things are some characters of Thai people I encounter here !
Till we meet again next year then.

A poem from J.D Estrada "Pari Smiles"

If you have a friend who is author and fond of writing, you'll never know how he will surprise you after the last conversation you two made.
Talked to J.D Estrada few weeks ago, during the chats he mentioned something about "Pari smiles",as a joke I said something back which I do not remember nor even think about any more and never expected he would take it seriously.
A few days ago after a short conversation of last week, he sent me this poem.

Pari Smiles
Fullmoon rises
Spreads for miles
lights horizons
Sparkles of Thailand
joy surprises
Deep in Nether's Land
Pride it prizes.

Sweetly given,
gently shared,
Pari smiles,
with love and care

Thank you so much J.D. I like it. You are great !
